Why but a tachometer when you can just get a dash with the built in tach, the only reason i see necessary for a tach is if you are wiring a vtech where you would need the shift light to activate the vtech. There has to be a salvage yard around. they dont cost more than $20.

Look playa just get an si or hf dash. you can find atleast one at a salvage yard it costs like $20. thats what i did, i took an hf dash and modified it to an si it is cheap and it works perfectly. the only reason you would need a tach is if youre running vtech and need an activator.

the reason for an external tach is that factory tachs can sometimes be as much as 500 rpm off at high rpm...you want accuracy.
